F.A.Quesadillas

Well I know I have been blogging a lot about food lately so here is some more simply because I like to cook and eat what I cook. After working on a menu with a client of mine I was inspired to make some quesadillas, these are quite good but I am stiil refining them to make them just right. Here is my first stab at it.

First you need to defrost, season and grill some chicken.

I would suggest 2 chicken breasts and season them with basic salt and pepper or your favorite spice blend (which I did with a McCormicks blend)

Quick Grill Dinner

Well last night I was hungry and wanted some BBQ but did not want to cook for a long time because of the heat.  It was about 95 degrees around 8:30pm last night. Here is what went down…

This past Thursday was the farmers market in downtown Livermore so I had some really great red potatoes, bell peppers, and zucchini.

On a side note, I was never really into going to farmers markets in town when I could go to Safeway whenever I wanted and get produce. That was lame. I can tell a big difference in taste, quality and price which is always great on budget. Anyways back to the food.

First start with the red potatoes and bell peppers.

Fuel Branding: The Past and The Present

In an attempt to bring another part of my life here, I am trying to post some more work stuff so here we go…

Well the request came in to re-brand the ministry Fuel.  After a few meetings and a few concepts the new branding is complete. Below is the old (left) and the new (right):

fuel-oldfuel-new

I don’t really have much for the old branding since I did not do it.  But it was mostly based on what was above.  It had a lot of old sepia style pictures of gas stations and retro gas pumps.  Hopefully the new organic earthly stuff will speak more to the age range that ministry consists of.  I think it will. Here are some concepts that were in-between the 2 looks:

Bachelor BBQ: Kleist Kabobs

Well tonight’s menu is Kleist Kabobs.  The are pretty standard kabobs but this is the way my dad has been making them and so it is the way I am making them thus Kleist kabobs are born.

What to buy: 1 package of stew beef, 1 bottle of creamy french salad dressing, 2 cans of whole white potatoes, one package of fully cooked shrimp, 1 large green bell pepper, 1 package of whole mushrooms, wood or metal skewers, rice

Total cost: around $18-$20
Feeds 5-6, about $3-$4 a meal or person (if you are a single person that is a lot of lunches and dinners)

Food prep:

The night before making this meal marinate the beef in the creamy french dressing, use about 3/4 of the bottle.
